The 80′s: Was It Terrifically Trendy Or Outrageously Overdone?
Comments OffThe 80’s was a fantastic time to grow up, and the fashion was unique and sassy, but do we really need to see it interpreted this way? It’s 2010 – for goodness sakes, I’m wearing a Citizen solar powered environment friendly watch to show how much we live in the future now – but let’s not forget the past too.
When I see a teenage girl walking through the mall wearing her black leggings, pink and white oversized tee shirt, and yellow pumps, I want to tell her she’s doing it all wrong.
I want to take her to the nearest store and create the right outfit for her. Fashion trends may constantly repeat, but if we’re going to do it, shouldn’t we do it right? Kids sporting the wild look of an 80’s punkster can be found at any teenage hangout. But ask any of them about the movement that sparked the fashion, and they will have no clue. I’m not against the idea of this nostalgic trend, I’m just against it being so overdone, it’s not fashion, it’s tragic!
