On Camping Trips In The Desert
Comments OffOnce my family along with few friends decided to go on a camping trip to Jaisalmer in India. Jaisalmer in Rajasthan is famous for the Forts and sand dunes. But it is an amazing experience to go on a desert camping. The camping sites are far away from the hustle-bustle of the main city. It was my first time to go on such a trip. Normally I’m getting involved in a bit of carp fishing when I camp – no such luck here though!
Camel rides are recommended to reach that place, as it is very difficult to walk continuously on sand. Once we reached there the picturesque view of the place far from the madding crowd was an awesome experience. As it is very hot during the daytime, we spent the afternoons inside our tents but the evenings were mesmerizing.
The tents were lit up with lamps and bonfire was organized on the dunes with folk dancers dancing their way to traditional folk songs. It is always advisable to visit in the winter months from November to January, as the heat is unbearable at other times. We carried light summer clothes to be worn during the day. But blankets and sweaters are a must as the night temperature suddenly drops in the deserts. It was an enthralling experience.
